A Festive Day Out in Peel

The seaside town of Peel is home to a range of traditional and new independent businesses. Offering a range of dining experiences, shopping trips and winter walks all within walking distance of each other. LoveIOM has selected several places to head to if you’re fancying a trip out west during the festive season.
Wildlife Trust Shop
Head into Peel town centre to visit the Isle of Man’s leading conservation society. Founded in 1973, the Manx Wildlife Trust members, staff and volunteers are committed to protecting the Manx wildlife.
The shop has a range gifts wildlife-inspired gifts ideal for Christmas, with proceeds going directly back in into the charity.

Roots by the Sea
Get cosy with a homemade bagel or a warm cup of ‘community blend coffee’ in the seaside café, Roots by the Sea. Providing a warm and welcoming setting on Peel Beach front, you will find a range of warm drinks, freshly baked treats and Roots staple bagels. All their products can be found on their website, the perfect place to pull together a Christmas hamper.
If you are feeling extra brave this winter, you can join Roots and co. for their weekend sea-dips which take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:30am and enjoy a post dip chat and coffee after!

Peel Beach and up Peel Hill
If you’ve just stopped off at Roots by the Sea, then you will probably be able to see the start of the Corrins Folly walk. Also known as Peel Hill. The hill offers a great viewing spot of Peel and the Manx coast line from above.
If you take a stroll down Peel promenade, then maybe grab an ice-cream on the way from Davidsons, you can walk across to the start of the Corrins Folly walk. From there you can take the clear and accessible path straight up to Corrins Tower and see Peel from above.

The Creek Inn
Once you’ve finished your walk, why not have a well-earned pit-stop at the well-known ‘Creek’ pub on Peel Harbour.
A traditional friendly pub that overlooks Peel Hill, the venue serve a range of drinks including the locally brewed Okell’s Ales. Their menu is full of traditional home-cooked pub grub that’s served daily from 12:00 till 10:00pm. Take your pick of indoor or outdoor seating and tuck into their Christmas menu too...
